Welcome to Sudan Stamps

Mubarak Zaroug (1917–1965) - 3 piastre

This memorial commemorative postage stamp was issued in 1965 by Sudan to honor a prominent political leader and statesman following his unexpected passing. Releasing dedicated issues for key national figures allowed the postal administration to mark moments of national remembrance and highlight significant contributors to Sudan's modern political history. The issue was released to mark the passing of Mubarak Zaroug (1917–1965), a distinguished lawyer, leading political figure, and prominent member of the National Unionist Party (NUP). Zaroug served in several high-ranking government capacities, including as Leader of the House of Representatives, Minister of Communications, and Minister of Foreign Affairs, playing a pivotal role in guiding Sudan through its early post-independence constitutional development and parliamentary era.
