Sphinx and Pyramid - 10 piastre
The first official stamps of Sudan were issued on March 1, 1897, as a provisional series using eight Egyptian stamps of the "Sphinx and Pyramid" design. These stamps were overprinted with the word "SOUDAN" in both Latin and Arabic scripts.
